As a chiropractor here in Cedar Rapids, I get asked my opinion on a variety of topics outside of chiropractic. As a resource to our patients, here are various products we recommend. I have personally tested all of these and use some of them myself on a regular basis. If you have a product you think would be a great resource for others, let me know and we may be able to add it here.  

MATTRESSES

Tuft and Needle
Tuft and Needles mattresses are like no other mattress available. They come shipped in a box that seems way too small for a mattress - all you do is unroll the package and it morphs into a full-size mattress. They are not too soft nor too firm, they are very affordable,  and best of all, they are made here in the U.S.! It is the highest-rated mattress on amazon.com. I bought one myself, and for that price and quality, I couldn’t imaging buying anything else.

PILLOWS

This is another question I get all the time. I will say that the pillow isn’t nearly  as important as your sleeping position, which should be on your side or on your back. Sleeping on your stomach can damage your neck and make you age faster - no one wants that. Here are a couple of pillow products that work well.

Tri-Core Standard

This is great for patients who are wanting to sleep on their back, or improve their posture. Made in the USA, the Tri-Core pillow is prized for its ability to help relieve neck pain and correctly align the spine, while supporting the neck in its natural position. It takes a week or two to get used to this pillow, but eventually most patients love them.

Shredded Memory Foam Pillow

This pillow is great, especially for side sleepers. It is hypoallergenic and made in the U.S.A. When choosing a pillow for side sleeping, it needs to be thick enough so that your head remains in a neutral position.

My Pillow

This is actually my favorite pillow of all. It can be adjusted to fit comfortably whether you are lying on your side or back, it’s easy to wash, and it is very cooling.

SHOES

Asics

 Once you wear a pair of quality Asics, it’s hard to wear any other shoes. Not all Asics are made the same, so make sure you get a quality pair. The GT series are great, and the new Gel-Quantum 360’s are a dream to walk in. They aren’t cheap, but quality products  rarely are. The other negative thing about Asics in my opinion, is that they aren’t the best looking shoes.

Regenepure Shampoo 

Regenepure DR is a doctor recommended hair loss treatment designed for all hair types. BABY PRODUCTS

Honest Company Organic Healing Balm

This stuff is seriously magic. Whatever irritation you put it on of your little one’s is gone in an hour. We use it instead of diaper rash cream. It also works great on red/irritated skin and minor scrapes. There are reports of it helping eczema as well. This is one product that I’m glad we have on hand with our baby.
